Our first “Five Minutes With” is with Maria Connelly, Office Administrator:
1 – Tell us about your role at Beam
As the Office Administrator I deal with the processing of orders for our customers, booking deliveries and deal with telephone queries.
2 – What excites you most about being part of Beam Group?
I love the products in our range – I have a list as long as your arm for Christmas – mostly comprising of items for my kitchen, to compliment the many appliances I’ve already got! The team I work with always bring about a good atmosphere in the office – particularly when we bring food in to share – our next culinary endeavour is a Mexican lunch.
3 – How do you have to adapt each day now that the business is in its peak time of the year?
My role is all about organisation, ensuring that the needs of our independent customers are met whilst processing larger orders for national retailers. Although this is Beam’s busiest time of year it absolutely essential we still deliver on our next day delivery promise – therefore part of my role requires me to work closely with the warehouse team to ensure the order processing, packaging and delivery journey to our customers is seamless.
4 – On average, how many orders do you process / deal with on a daily basis?
Every day is completely difference but our peak period it is all hands of deck ensuring we meet our customers’ expectations every time.
5 – If there were no ingredients off limits, what would be your ultimate three-course meal?
I’m a pretty simple girl – my menu would consist of, smoked salmon to start, cheesecake to finish and anything that someone else has cooked for a main dish. Although I love to cook, it always tastes better when someone else has done the hard work!
